The Magic Date

The medjooled date is jam packed with B vitamins, copper, potassium and magnesium which aids in energy, healthy metabolism, improved collagen and cholesterol.  I have started to add these into my daily food journal as a perfect sugar swap in most recipes and a bite-sized snack right before bed.  These native Moroccan fruits are sold dried which make them soft and sticky like caramel. However, this little sugary gem is low on the glycemic index and shouldn’t cause large increases in blood sugar.
